How we help.
Here to help
We’ve saved over 4,500 UK charities and not-for-profits tens of thousands of pounds in overcharges and unfair penalties, as well as countless headaches and hours that would otherwise have been lost to sitting on hold to call centres.
But we know where our enduring value lives. The relationships we have built over the last 20 years with our customers, partners and communities makes Utility Aid not just a champion for bill-payers but a real force to be reckoned with.
Whether you’re the financial director of a major charity or a volunteer at the local Food Bank, we give every case that comes to us the same level of care, expertise and attention.
What our customers say
Utility Aid went above and beyond over a considerable period of time negotiating on our behalf

When Sprowston Parish got an energy bill of nearly £800 they knew they’d been overcharged.
When they challenged it, the supplier still refused to budge. Utility Aid took up the case and after 6 months of fighting on their behalf we successfully won the dispute, overturning the original overcharge and reducing their monthly direct debit to 50 pounds.
Takes the angst out of chasing energy companies when there is a problem.
Angela Roberts,
Alcohol & Drugs Support,
South West Scotland

Great service. Always deals with any issues we have.
Nancy Ross,
Women’s Aid,
East and Midlothian

What a great company. Utility Aid works hard for clients and always keeps us in the loop.
John Hughes,
Orrell Park Baptist Church

£43,000 reimbursed
When Volunteering Matters approached us last year about a final bill of £43,000, it was to help set up a payment plan with their supplier.
Utility Aid conducted further investigations, however, to verify the accuracy of the charges and to see if there was any way to reduce the amount owed. What we discovered was that an incorrect VAT rate had been applied as well as skewed estimated readings due to a contractor leaving the boiler on continuously. After 12 months of negotiations between Utility Aid and the supplier, the customer’s bill was cancelled and amended, leaving no outstanding balance. ‘Having checked the account,’ EDF confirmed to us, ‘we would like to confirm that we have already reversed the bill and made adjustments on all charges. The account balance is now zero and there is no outstanding balance to pay.’
Helpful, friendly and professional service. Really does eliminate the long calls dealing with energy companies.
John Payne,
Abertay Housing Association
Always great customer service, even if the issue isn’t totally under their control as agents.

It has been a tumultuous time in the energy markets, but we have felt in safe hands
We were already working with Utility Aid when I joined, and I have been impressed with the professional approach and the level of care we receive.
Nathan has been proactive in working with us to secure the best value contracts for our gas and electricity. It has been a tumultuous time in the energy markets, but we have felt that we were in safe hands working with Nathan and his team.
We know that we can continue to benefit from Utility Aid’s expertise, especially in the area of sustainability. I would thoroughly recommend Utility Aid as an energy partner.
Jenny Johnson,

The team at Utility Aid was incredible in the support of the actual switch in suppliers, particularly when we had an issue with a couple of unreasonable objections from our former supplier.
Brian Trainor,

I had great help and support in guiding me through and reviewing our current electricity billing and needs.

Jordan Effield,

Exceptional service in managing our energy accounts and reporting. Their expertise and attention to detail have made a significant difference in streamlining our processes, while their guidance and insights regarding our environmental reporting have helped us navigate these requirements with confidence, ensuring compliance and a well-structured approach to our energy management.
Ian Price,
Direct Healthcare Group

Some of the problems we were experiencing with our supplier were quite complicated and took up a lot of admin time. Utility Aid has detailed knowledge of the energy sector, and connections and direct contacts at the suppliers, so they achieve better and quicker results than ordinary businesses. The staff are helpful, polite and upbeat. We are very grateful for their invaluable help.
