At Utility Aid, everything we do is driven by our purpose: to do more good. We believe in supporting not-for-profit organisations not just through our energy expertise, but by championing excellence across the sector.
That’s why we were proud to sponsor the Financial or Procurement Excellence of the Year category at the Third Sector Awards 2025; a celebration of the finance and procurement teams who make a vital difference behind the scenes.
This year’s winner, Stewardship, exemplified everything this award stands for: professionalism, innovation, and a deep commitment to people.
Amid a year of major organisational transformation, including a full leadership transition, Stewardship’s finance team remained focused, values-driven, and resilient. They implemented a new discretionary bonus scheme, increased staff salaries, improved recruitment, and made strategic investments to ensure long-term stability. Despite the challenges, they closed the year with a strong surplus and continued to support their wider mission.
Led by CFOO Felicity Griffiths and Head of Finance Francis Lei, the team’s collaborative spirit and unwavering dedication have had a tangible global impact, advancing Stewardship’s mission and empowering others to live and give generously.
“It was a privilege to present this award on behalf of Utility Aid; the whole event was very heart-warming and inspirational,” said Emily Berry, Partnerships Director.
We were also delighted to attend the event with a full table and share the evening with so many inspiring people. It was a truly humbling experience; seeing so many worthy winners receive well-earned recognition was emotional and uplifting. As our first event with Third Sector, it felt incredibly aligned with who we are and what we stand for. We’re a people-first business, driven by empathy and a desire to support the organisations that support others, and this event reflected that perfectly.
We’re proud to be aligned with Third Sector and are looking forward to doing more together in the future.
