The Energy Event 2014

This year, as ever, the Energy Event did not disappoint. We attended the show on 16-17 September at Birmingham's NEC along with the energy industry's leading professionals, customers and exhibition visitors.

It's great to see such a wide range of companies exhibiting and presenting in many different ways. The Energy Event is the perfect chance for us to connect with our peers and to start conversations about the industry and how it's evolving.

Something we're always keen to do is to talk about the great causes we're working with and the good that's being done. So we took this opportunity to launch, and to spread the word about our Nicest Job in Britain campaign. The Nicest Job in Britain is a nationwide search for somebody to be our national philanthropy manager, aiming to help 45 charities in one year. At our UA stand, we encouraged people to think about the charities they'd like to see benefitting from the role and the people they think would make great candidates. We also proudly displayed the do more good wheels that are a part of the impressive job package!

Commercial director, Billy Campbell and I were joined by business development managers Brendan O'Callaghan, Dean Marsh and Aisha Clayton at the stand where we received nominations from a whole range of people. See who visited the stand to nominate here.

It's been a fantastic start to the campaign and we're very much looking forward to working with lots of wonderful charities and receiving some inspirational entries. See how we got on below and head to The Nicest Job in Britain site for more information.
