The MS Society is the UK's leading MS charity. Since 1953, they have been providing information and support, funding research and fighting for change.
This branch has: 350 members & over 70 volunteers with one aim: to beat MS.
MS is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. It can be tough to deal with, especially when people have just been diagnosed.
The local branch offers support; activities, visits and socials; specialist transport; and financial support to people affected by MS.
To pay the lowest price possible for their energy so that the branch has more funds to support people affected by MS.
Once Utility Aid received the bills they were able to request tenders from suppliers interested in providing prices for the contract.
The branch were approaching the date for renewing their contracts. One of their priorities was budget certainty so it was essential that they were offered competitive tariffs on longer term contracts.
Utility Aid recommended 48 month contracts for both gas and electricity to provide the budget certainty the branch needed to plan into the future.
Estimated annual savings are 8.9% on gas and 40.9% on electricity.
That will save almost £1,000 on the rates they were paying over the four year period.
Both time and money were saved as a result of the energy audit as well as the added benefit of budget security for the near future.
Savings in both money and time will enable the branch to plough resources directly back into the fight against MS.
